Lower Electricity Rates Start in September

On March 20, 2012, residents of Lake Villa approved a referendum authorizing community leaders to buy electricity in bulk from a supplier other than ComEd. After an extensive bidding process, the Village of Lake Villa selected MC Squared Energy Services, LLC (mc2), to provide electricity supply services to its residents and small businesses for the next year.

Beginning this September, eligible residents and small businesses in Lake Villa will experience significantly lower electricity rates. Lake Villa residents are expected to save between 39% and 51% on the supply portion of their electricity bills.1 If you live in the Village of Lake Villa, click here for more information.

1 Savings estimates are based on a comparison of the mc2 rate to the comparable summer/non-summer ComEd Basic Electric Service rate in effect as of June 20, 2012, including the Purchased Electricity Supply Charge, Transmission Services Charge and the June 2012 Purchased Electricity Adjustment.
